Before Becoming A Director, Bill Asher Worked As An Assistant Cameraman, Editor, And Writer

During the late 1940s, Asher co-produced and directed the low-budget boxing melodrama “Leather Gloves.” In the early 1960s, Asher was drawn to the television medium, directing episodes of Big Town and Racket Squad. He also directed the hit television series I Love Lucy, which he stayed with for five years.

The Army’s decision to send him away from his home at a young age sparked a fire in his mother’s alcoholism.
